Linda Kosut & I have put together a marvelous show about the universal nature of the music of OB Jr.
“Who is Oscar Brown, Jr.?” This show will introduce you to the music and spirit of this singer, songwriter, poet, activist, actor, director, playwright, Afro-centrist, politician and social critic who left a prolific catalogue of music and poetry. He was a jazzer; a cabaret, nightclub and stage performer; some have called him “the Father of Rap” – a renaissance man. He walked into fame in the early 60's and performed, entertained and educated until his passing in 2005.
October 10th would have been Oscar's 80th birthday - please join us in celebrating his life and legacy!
