Wayne Wallace Trombone Quartet

Intersection Theater, 446 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA

This intimate evening celebrates the evolution of the trombone from its origins as a primarily lyrical instrument and an integral component to the percussive attacks within big bands to the redefining work of renowned trombonist J.J. Johnson to the tempo and experimentation of today. This event features the World Premiere of two brand new Intersection commissioned pieces by Resident Composer Wayne Wallace, a master trombonist, highly solicited composer and arranger, and widely respected music educator.

"A master of all trades and second to none, Wallace has synthesized the full motherlode of musical styles he has helped shape over the past 20 years in San Francisco..." - Dr. Anthony Brown, Director Asian American Jazz Orchestra
